 |
Shunkei was a painter and illustrator who drew the pictures for a two-volume album entitled Kadan Asagao Tsū (Morning Glory Flowerbed). It was edited by Shujin Tsubotendō and published in 1815. The album’s 41 woodblock-printed pictures are shown here. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Shunkei drew his picture subjects accurately but because they were genetic mutants they do not look like the typical morning glory.
